HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY--PART II

I HATE VALENTINE'S DAY!!! I hate the pressure from the media and friends when you are single. I hate the commercialism.

That was me before.........this is me now............A REFORMED VALENTINE'S DAY HATER. I love Valentine's Day!!! Guess how that happened? Thought you would never ask.

Last February 14th, 2005, was a normal day. I was at the restaurant working and trying to ignore it was Valentine's Day. It was busy as couples wandered into the restaurant to have a romantic meal together. Staff, management and customers were coming into the restaurant with chocolates for each one of us working that night.

I was sad. My Prince lives 8 hours away and we could not be together due to the distance.

You will never guess what happened that night? I was busy working in the smoking section of the restaurant, and all of a sudden........The PRINCE walks in. I had called him on my coffee break to see what was going on in his world that day. He never mentioned he was driving through rain and snow storms to be with me.

I ALMOST had a heart attack!!!!!! What a surprise!!!!!! When he showed up at the restaurant, he handed me a napkin.......saying it was dirty and would I give him a new one..

The napkin wasn't dirty, it had a message on it......."Will you be my Valentine? It had two choices...Yes or No. I checked the YES box. That was the beginning of an incredible Valentine's Day.

I got off work at 11 pm. We ate a late dinner and the presents from My Prince lasted for hours. I have NEVER EVER had a man pamper me so much. He put so much thought and effort into us being together for Valentine's Day. No commercialism, real LOVE and giving.

At the end of the night....ok late into the morning....I made a confession....I LOVE Valentine's Day. What an amazing way to be introduced to Valentine's Day!!!

This year it is my turn to spoil The Prince. I am making bbq ribs, steamed crab, garlic shrimp, stuffed potaotes, cheesie broccoli and cauliflower. For dessert I am making chocolate covered strawberries, and brownies.

I bought The Prince a stuffed animal with long stretched out arms that says......I love you this much. The stuffed animal is in a basket filled with Hersey Hugs and Kisses chocolates. I hope this is what a girl is supposed to do for Valentine's Day for her boy? I have never done this before.

Joke of the day: What do frog's say after telling a joke?

Question of the day? Should Vegetarians eat animal crackers?

P.S. This year, Valentine's Day was amazing. The meal I cooked turned out well. The Prince spoiled and charmed me with flowers, chocolates, make-up, a pink stuffed frog, and a dancing frog singing.."I'm just a love machine." Oh I love frogs and princes'!!!

Do remember that love is an action word. Love and chocolates are a daily thing to do for one another....not just for a day.
